@Saracens are not looking to bring in any new signings until 2019
A source with knowledge of the discussions said the Chiefs have “not been in touch” with the England team about bringing in any foreign talent, and are not planning to do so.
“The focus is not on recruiting but to keep the squad fit and healthy for the next 12 months,” the source said.
“There is no new signing for 2019.
We have an existing squad and will have to play one of our overseas players next year.”
We will not bring in players until 2019.
There is no reason to think they will be any good at that stage.
“The Chiefs are keen to bring a new scrumhalf in, although they are reluctant to do this until the 2019 World Cup in Russia.
The source added: “Sarasota are not the most active of the overseas rugby nations.
It would be a major blow to the Chiefs, who are very busy with World Cup qualifiers and World Cup fixtures.
“They need to be more consistent.
They are still not in the top half of the pack.
They need to get back on track.”
England are the biggest market in the world, so they are looking to sign foreign players.
